One goal of this project was to utilize a meager portion of the leftover scraps in my uncle Dino’s shop, accumulating like dust along the walls over 40 years of furniture making and being a low-key hoarder.

The whale thing came about because this project started off as a coat hanger; I planned to have the hooks placed like ribs along the body of the whale, in a non-anatomical way. I have since been convinced that it would be silly to hide the wood with coats, and so it is now merely a collage.
